Quiet Beginning to August

A northwest flow of dry Canadian air has us in fine shape this weekend, A good deal of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s with comfortable humidity levels. This dry flow wont completely shield us from a stray shower or thundershower. Weak front backed by slightly cooler air aloft may kick up a shower or two mainly across the northern tier counties of the state and along Lake Erie.  There isn't much moisture to work with so precip. will be sparse in the Laurel Highlands and central mountains. A little dip in the jet stream in the northeast is just enough to keep higher heat and humidity locked off to our south. In fact, the first week of August should be seasonably mild with a few showers and storms here and there.
