Cold air forced upward is causing freezing drizzle and hazardous travel this morning. Temperatures will rise and bring the slick conditions to an end. High pressure is paying a visit this weekend providing something we've had little of this week, some sunshine. Fair skies with temperatures in the mid and upper 30s will feel pretty good for a change. A weak clipper system will move through Monday, a wintry mix is likely. Temperatures will continue to climb and set the stage for a major storm that'll disrupt travel from Florida to New England and across the Mid Atlantic states Tuesday through Christmas day. This system will bring a variety of nasty conditions. The leading edge of the coastal storm will bring heavy rain, we could even hear a rumble of thunder. Then brace for a variety of precipitation, rain, ice and snow. The back side of the storm will cause a quick freeze, snow and very high winds Christmas Eve and Christmas day. We'll track the development of this storm through the weekend. Keep up with weather information on the air, on line and with the WJAC weather app.
