Santa Fe, Argentina -- (Sports Network) - Gabriel Campillo took the WBA light heavyweight title from Hugo Hernan Garay with a 12-round majority decision Saturday night.

Campillo (18-2), in his second career title fight, had lost two of his previous three bouts outside Spain. He won by scores of 115-114 and 114-113, while another judge scored the bout a draw, 114-114.

The Argentine Garay (32-4) was making his second title defense. He won the crown over Yuri Barashian last July then successfully defended the belt with a unanimous decision over Juergen Braehmer in November.
