Altoona Curve Set To Open Their Longest Homestand To Date Captain Awful, Used Cars and More To Be FeaturedThe Altoona Curve return home to Blair County Ballpark to open their longest homestand to date of the 2008 baseball season.The Altoona Curve return home to Blair County Ballpark to open their longest homestand to date of the 2008 baseball season.The summertime fun will begin with a four-game set against the Binghamton Mets (AA/New York Mets) and will carry on through the weekend when the Curve entertain the Harrisburg Senators (AA/Washington Nationals) for a trio of games.Highlighting the seven-game stretch will be three fireworks shows over the Fourth of July Holiday. Fans can enjoy the trio of post-game fireworks on Thursday, courtesy of the PA Lottery, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also over the course of the homestand, fans will enjoy world-famous promotions that have put the Curve on the map as one of the most unique and creative franchises in the country. On Wednesday, Irish Pat’s Used Car Giveaway will return to Blair County Ballpark, and on Monday, July 7, the homestand will conclude with the award-winning Awful Night VI – The Worseest Ever.A giveaway item will kick off the homestand today. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will take home a Curve Beach Towel, presented by the Central PA Convention and Visitors Bureau. During the homestand, former Steelers great Louis Lipps will make an appearance at the ballpark on Saturday. Lipps will be on hand to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, meet with fans and sign autographs.Also, following all weekend games at BCB, kids can run the bases, courtesy of Thomas Chevrolet of Bedford.Below is the complete listing of promotions set to occur during the Curve’s June 30- July 7 homestand at Blair County Ballpark: Monday, June 30, 7:05 p.m. vs. Binghamton Mets (gates open at 6 p.m.)

• All tickets in the UPMC Health Plan Home Run Junction (outfield reserve) will cost as much as one gallon of regular unleaded fuel that day!
• Giant Eagle Advantage Card Day ( By presenting your Advantage Card at the BCB ticket windows, you can buy one outfield reserve seat at regular price and get a second one, free!)
