Centre County Soldier Returns From Iraq, Killed In Motorcycle Crash

An Army communications specialist who had just returned home from a tour of duty in Iraq died over the weekend in a motorcycle crash in Centre County.Ryan Dixon, 24, of Milesburg, was a 2002 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School.Police said Dixon was not wearing a helmet when he crashed on Railroad Street in Milesburg early Saturday.Investigators said Dixon was speeding through a dead end and struck railroad tracks.The coroner said Dixon died later at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
