Janel Knight joined WJAC-TV in August 2008. She is a Johnstown reporter.

Janel fell in love with broadcasting when she was just 7 years old. On a family trip to Washington D.C. she gave daily reports on her family’s home video camera. Since then her dream of being a reporter has not changed.

She graduated from American University in Washington D.C. with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a double minor in Multi-ethnic Studies and Justice.

While at American University she interned at Cox Broadcasting in their Washington D.C. Bureau where she interviewed major political figures and pundits about the hot topics going on in the world of politics.

She also interned at WAMU-NPR radio and played a key role in their Virginia Tech massacre coverage. In Boston, Janel interned at WBZ in their sports department.

Janel was born and raised in Boston, MA. She is a die-hard Boston sports fan. During her spare time she enjoys reading, surfing the internet, and doing community service.
