Tim Tender
Weekend and Weather Plus Meteorologist
Meteorologist Tim Tender uses his meteorology education from Mississippi State University and his communication skills from Robert Morris University to bring an accurate, staight-forward, and easy-to-understand forecast to the Alleghenies.
Tim Tender comes to WJAC-TV from Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, which is about 25 minutes southwest of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Burgettstown High School in 2000 and later attended Robert Morris University. At Robert Morris, Tim graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications in 2004. He also played an active role in the Academic Media Center at RMU, working as the Weather Producer, Weather Anchor, and even served as News Producer during his final semester.
When he is not delivering the weather, Tim enjoys playing ice hockey. Playing since 1999, he has played every position, except goalie, and has been a captain of an adult league team and a coach for a youth hockey team. While not on the ice, Tim also likes to watch television, hang out with friends, play video games, and surf the 'net.
He is also a big fan of Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Tim is now a certified meteorologist, having finished the Broadcast Meteorology Program through Mississippi State University in August of 2007.
