LIGONIER, Pa. -- After the state made cuts to this year's budget, Heritage organizations across the Alleghenies are feeling the brunt. The Allegheny Ridge consists of 12 different organizations and they had to split $1.95 million dollars worth of state funding. Now that money isn't coming in and they have to fund raise to make up the difference.Executive Director Olga Herbert is the executive director for the group in Ligonier.Herbert said their employees took at 20 percent pay cut, and moved office buildings to save money. The big project in the area is the Lincoln Highway Experience, it costs around $8 million. The project runs along Route 30 and through six counties.Right now the project is delayed but Herbert wants to assure everyone the project will resume and they will finish.
