Convicted Killer Back In Cambria County Court

A convicted killer was back in court on Friday and prosecutors are asking to keep his retrial in Cambria County.

Ernie Simmons, 52, was found guilty of killing an 80-year-old Johnstown woman in 1993, but a judge ruled that prosecutors withheld evidence and Simmons was granted a new trial.

Prosecutors said they would also like to use old testimony from a woman who has since died.

The trial is scheduled for next year. Stay with WJACTV.com and WJAC-TV News for continuing coverage.
