Car Crashes Reported in Bedford, Blair, Centre Counties Friday Night

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Slick conditions are being blamed for numerous accidents across the Eastern Alleghenies Friday night.911 dispatchers in Blair, Bedford and Centre Counties have been busy taking accident calls since early Friday afternoon.A school bus and car reportedly collided near New Enterprise in Bedford County early Friday afternoon; it is unclear whether any students were on board.Dispatchers in Blair County told WJAC-TV Friday night that first responders were called out to several wrecks, including a car that crashed into utility pole near Roaring Spring and several rollovers.Several accidents were reported along Interstate 80 and Interstate 99 in Centre County, including a pickup truck with multiple passengers that rolled over onto its side near State College.Among tonight’s accidents, no serious injuries or fatalities have been reported as of 10:45 p.m. Friday in the Eastern Alleghenies.Numerous communities have declared snow emergencies, including Ferguson Township and College Township in Centre County, Bedford Borough in Bedford County and Blair Township in Blair County.Dispatchers in several counties are urging people to avoid driving on local roads and highways overnight and Saturday morning if possible.If you must travel, you are urged to bring an emergency kit, flares, a blanket and a cell phone.For the latest road conditions from PennDOT, dial 511 from your mobile phone.
