Prof. Wrestling: What I Want
My 2005 Wish List
Listen up!Class is in session. It'll be a quickie lecture, kids. It is Christmas, after all. What do I want for Christmas? Off the top of my head, the Ric Flair and ECW DVDs would be nice, not to mention Bobby Heenan's two books. But that's material stuff. Here's the real deal:More Specials Like WWE's 'Christmas In Iraq'
The Prof has to admit he was teary more than a few times watching this gem Thursday night. Big kudos to Vince McMahon and his band of performers for risking their lives to entertain the troops in Iraq. You could really tell the men and women of our fighting forces appreciated the attention. I'm glad I took the time to watch it. Say what you want about Vince and how his product may or may not be good for kids or our culture, but there's one thing you can't take away from him: He is a true patriot. Thanks again.Big Raises For Mick Foley And Lilian Garcia
The former main-eventer and the ring announcer are both class acts. For Foley, he was tremendous on CNN this past week talking about the Iraq trip. Say what you will about his crazy bumps, but he's really the best person Vince has ever had being the mouthpiece for WWE. As for Garcia, she's not a Diva, but should be. I say she's a hidden gem on WWE's roster, and should be rewarded with more exposure. For TNA To Repeat Its Weekly Fox Sports Net Show Right now, the 'iMPLOSION' show airs at 3 p.m. nationwide. That's great, but a lot of people are working at that time and may not have it on their "record" list. As I was pondering this Christmas wish, TNA Wrestling public relations whiz Brad Bernstein sent out a news release announcing that the show will be repeated! The extra showing will be at midnight on Saturdays starting on Jan. 8. Also, the Friday afternoon show will be moved back an hour to 4 p.m. nationwide. That starts Jan. 7. Woohoo! Here's hoping TNA will grow to the point where they put some serious heat on WWE. As Mr. McMahon knows, competition makes everyone better -- and the fans win out in the end.
Gold For Booker T
The five-time WCW champion should get a one-time WWE title run. Chris Benoit held the belt, so did Eddie Guerrero. It's high time for Booker to get a chance. If it were up to me, Book would win it at "WrestleMania 21" from JBL to get the maximum attention and respect he deserves.More Feedback That's where you come in. Since this little column started the Friday before "WrestleMania 20," I've received tons of great mail, which I appreciate. You're a classy class. But that doesn't mean I won't beg for more responses. Today's hook? What are your 2005 wrestling wishes? Send your e-mails right here. And thanks again for reading. Back To Iraq Not to harp on this, but I just can't stop thinking about the brave people who defend our country. They're in my prayers. I humbly ask that they be in yours as well. That's it. Class dismissed!Professor Wrestling is a masked employee of Internet Broadcasting Systems. He, Mrs. Professor, Professor Jr. and Professor Juniorette wish you the best this holiday season.)
