Tip: Unsalted Butter

Unsalted butter is labeled as such. Because it contains no salt, which acts as a preservative, it is more perishable than salted butter and may be found in the freezer section of some supermarkets. At home, wrap it tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap and freeze for up to 6 months.
