Blue Jays Offer Contract To Eight Players

Toronto, ON -- (Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays tendered a 2010 contract offer to eight arbitration-eligible players while allowing catcher Raul Chavez to become a free agent.The eight players offered a contract are utility man Jose Bautista and pitchers Jeremy Accardo, Shawn Camp, Jason Frasor, Brandon League, Shaun Marcum, Dustin McGowan and Brian Tallet. Chavez, 36, appeared in 51 games for the Jays last season and batted .258 with two homers and 15 RBI.
