San Francisco Giants (54-60) At Los Angeles Dodgers (59-56), 10:40 P.m.

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to keep rolling tonight when they welcome the San Francisco Giants to town for the opener of a three- game series at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers had an 11-game win streak halted in Colorado on Wednesday, but came back with a 4-3 victory in Thursday's finale. LA took three of four in the set and now lead the NL West by one-half game over Arizona and San Diego.

LA earned an exciting victory last night as Kenny Lofton plated the game's winning run with a single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Lofton finished 3-for-4 with two runs batted in for the Dodgers. Nomar Garciaparra had two hits and picked up his 1,500th in the majors during the win, while Andre Ethier added a home run and extended his hitting streak to 14 games.

Meanwhile, the Giants lost the final two tests in a three-game series at Arizona. Luis Gonzalez hit a two-run homer to help the Diamondbacks earn the 5-3 victory.

Shea Hillenbrand went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Giants, who have lost 13 of their last 16 games. Matt Morris (8-10) was saddled with the loss, giving up three runs on seven hits through five innings.

The Giants are last in the NL West, but are still only 4 1/2 games behind the Dodgers.

Mark Hendrickson will try to earn wins in back-to-back starts for the first time this season when he heads to the hill for LA this evening.

Hendrickson is just 1-4 with a 4.83 ERA since coming over in a trade with Tampa Bay in late June, but the lanky lefty earned his first win with the club last Sunday in Florida. He surrendered just three runs and six hits in six innings of work against the Marlins.

The 6-foot-9 Hendrickson is 0-1 with a 3.95 ERA in two career starts against the Giants.

Noah Lowry will counter on the mound for San Fran tonight. Lowry is coming off last Saturday's tough no decision versus Colorado when he yielded just one run and four hits over nine strong innings. The Rockies wound up winning the game, 2-1, in 11 innings.

The 25-year-old lefty has had some success against the Dodgers, going 2-0 with a 3.12 ERA in seven career games (five starts).

The season series between LA and the Giants is knotted at five games apiece. The teams have split the last 48 meetings with each other.
