Blue Jays Trade For Pirates INF Bautista

Toronto, ON -- (Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays acquired infielder Jose Bautista from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday for a player to be named later.The Pirates demoted the third baseman Bautista to Triple-A Indianapolis last week after he hit .242 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI in 107 games with the big club. Toronto will be the 27-year-old's fifth stop in the big leagues since debuting in 2004. In 441 career games with Baltimore, Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay, Bautista has compiled 43 home runs and 161 RBI to go with a .240 batting average.
