Family Raffling $1M California Home

Max Of 13,000 Entries To Be Accepted

A home valued at over $1 million could be yours just by entering a contest.

Valerie Bahm told TV station KCRA that she and her husband, Jerry, are giving away their 3,863-square-foot ranch home on South Lammers Road because it's time for them to move on.

The Bahms said they are looking for an alternative way to transfer ownership to a new family that might not qualify for conventional financing.

The proceeds from the house sale will go to charity, Bahm said.

The contest started on Dec. 5, 2008, and goes until June 15, 2009. To enter, you must submit an entry form, a $150 entry fee and an answer to the question posed on the form. A maximum of 13,000 entries will be accepted, and the contest will end early if that number is reached.

The family has created a Web site for the contest.
