Spring Cleaning Tools

It might not be the best part of springtime, but giving your house a thorough cleaning is an annual rite of spring. Sprucing up your home for spring doesnt have to be a painful chore. Good housekeepings tip number one.. Take it easy. Spring-cleaning can be overwhelming. So just focus on one or two big tasks, like washing windows or organizing your closets.

For those hard to reach places in the bathroom, Good Housekeeping suggests you try the Mr. Clean Magicreach. This tool has a flexible head so it pivots around curves and gets into corners. The handle extends up to four feet and it uses two types of disposable pads, one for tub and tile surfaces, and another for floors.

To clean every crumb, Good Housekeeping recommends the Leifheit Nook & Cranny Broom for its angled bristles and 7-foot telescopic pole. The triangular head can be removed for hand sweeping or attached to the pole where you can pivot it to get into corners and hard to reach areas.

Caldrea's Edging Duster Brush is designed to get the dust that accumulates along and around doors and furniture legs. This brush is a really unique dusting tool. It has soft bristles on one side for delicate furniture and breakable collectables, while the other side has a row of stiffer bristles for tracks on windows or computer keyboards.

To clean narrow-necked vases or coffee carafes, there's the Cuisipro Flexneck bottle and vase brush. The handle untwists making the head flexible and bendable in any direction so you can get into those hard to reach areas.

Good Housekeeping has a spring-cleaning tip for your windows: after applying window cleaner, buff the windows with a microfiber cloth. These cloths are very absorbent, they don't lint and they get rid of streaks fast.

And good housekeeping says if you plan to give your wood furniture an extra polish, put the polish on the cloth first, and then on the furniture. Let the furniture dry and then buff it with another clean, dry cloth. This will remove any remaining polish that might turn into a smeary buildup later on.
