How Women Can Avoid Looking Their Age

New cosmetics can help women look younger than their age, and they’re not just for the face.

“So many women spend so much time on their faces, focusing on the wrinkles, but there is more to it than that,” says Holly Crawford, Beauty Editor, Good Housekeeping.

For example, hair that begins to dull and thin with age. Good Housekeeping recommends Nexxus Y Serum. “And it’s actually called ‘younger looking hair treatment.’ So when you spray it on damp hair or dry hair it just sort of gives you a little healthy sheen," says Crawford. "It has UV protection in it and you know, even on the go you can use it as a styling product.”

Keep the skin on your neck and your hands looking younger with Olay’s Definity Deep Penetrating Foaming Moisturizer. “Olay found that a foam version actually penetrates deeper than a cream,” says Crawford.

“It doesn’t have a greasy feel, it’s very easy to put on, it’s easily absorbed and I just love the way it feels on my skin. It makes it feel nice and soft,” says one tester.

To cover natural blemishes and dark spots Good Housekeeping recommends CoverGirl Advance Radiance Age-Defying Makeup. “This CoverGirl lotion has skin care benefits in it. And again, it’s a trend. Looking for products with skin care benefits head to toe.

"One of the best lines for overall anti-aging is L’Oreal. They have so many options for women and it’s so affordable. They actually have a cream for face and neck which is good because if you forget that you are supposed to be putting on your neck the name alone will remind you.”

Good Housekeeping says that when Procter & Gamble was creating its Cover Girl Age-Defying makeup, the company used 3-D technology to study what makes skin look old. They found that skin tone is as important as texture. If the tone is off, a woman looks much older. The Cover Girl product has something called “niacin amide” which helps improve dullness of the skin, as well as lines.
