Johnstown Fire Blamed On Puppy

Johnstown fire officials said on Monday a puppy is responsible for a weekend fire that heavily damaged two apartments in a two-story home on Stone Street.Officials said the family that lives on the first floor had a puppy that chewed through a vacuum cleaner cord that was plugged in.The exposed wire set the rug on fire and the flames spread up through the walls, officials said.No one was home on the first floor at the time. There were no reported injuries, but two pets died in the blaze.
