WESTOVER, Pa. -- Residents of one Clearfield County school district are calling for the resignation of the school board president. They said Harmony school board President Anthony Beltowski was responsible for a lockdown at the district's high school and elementary school on March 24 -- without notifying students that it was only a drill."He didn't have the authority to make that decision," said Joe Mazenko. "The teachers and students had no idea that it was only a drill."Mazenko said the lockdown caused problems for student with illnesses and disabilities.Beltowki said the issue has been discussed at several school board meetings and declined further comment. But parents said the lockdown was frightening for the students."The longer it lasted, the more worried they became," said Mark Woodward. "They didn't know what was going on."District officials admitted mistakes were made."I'm working with my administrative team to work out some of the difficulties," said Superintendent David Goodin. "I'm confidant that something like this will be much more efficient in the future."
