Cambria County Colleges Announce Partnership
Two colleges in Cambria County have combined efforts to make getting a bachelor's degree a little easier.The new "Two Plus Two" program will allow students to remain at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College and take Mount Aloysius College classes in the business administration field. The move could potentially save money and time, as well as the hassle sometimes associated with transferring to a new school.Officials with both schools said the decision was made to make it easier on working adults who want to better themselves with a bachelor's degree.Students can take Mt. Aloysius classes at the Pennsylvania Highlands campus in Johnstown.An on-site liaison will advise students in the program.The agreement also states Mt. Aloysius will accept any Pennsylvania Highlands student who has completed an associates degree in business management with a minimum of 60 credits and a 2.0 grade point average.Classes will be held during the evening hours to be more convenient for nontraditional students.Mt. Aloysius also partnered with the Altoona-Johnstown Catholic Diocese to offer financial aid to some local catholic high school students.
