Bobbie Bee said she saw photos of her husband dodging bullets in Afghanistan and almost went into early labor.

Bee, who is a Ferndale High School graduate, is seven months pregnant and is scheduled to give birth while her husband, Marine Sgt. William Bee, is still serving his sixth tour of duty in Afghanistan.

The battle photos taken on Monday show William without a helmet, narrowly missing gunfire behind a wall.

William escaped without injury, but his wife said she had to hear from him herself before she believed it.

"I didn't know if I should laugh, cry or yell at him," Bobbie said.

William said he was in the midst of changing when the battle began, so he had no time to grab the appropriate gear.

The photos have gained national attention, and Bobbie is scheduled to do several interviews with national news organizations on Thursday.
