GROVE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Water levels at Cameron County reservoir are running dangerously low.The George B. Stevenson Dam is operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR.)DCNR officials said the water level started declining at the lake several months ago. Now, most of the lake is dry and most of the water has pooled around the dam.According to officials, it's the first time they've dealt with a situation like this at the dam. They aren't getting enough water from the creek leading to the reservoir to fill it up.In addition, DCNR officials are required to release water from the dam into the Sinnemahoning Creek.Officials said they're dealing with many rumors from the community, including that the lake is completely dry. They added that the situation at the lake is taking a bite out of the local economy."We can't operate our boat lauch since there isn't any water," said Park Manager Lisa Bainey.Bainey said a few inches of rain could fill the reservoir.
