Police in Tyrone, Blair County, are reminding parents to be on guard after an attempted kidnapping last week.

Thursday, a 13-year-old girl told police a man in a red pickup truck stopped her along the 600 block of Washington Avenue while she was on her way to school. When the man got out of the truck, the girl ran.

The man is described as having short gray hair and wearing blue jeans and boots.

There have been a handful of attempting kidnapping reports in the same general area over the past couple of years.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
