Sports Channels | Lowly Wolves Make A Stop In Denver(Sports Network) - The chances of the Minnesota Timberwolves ending their season-high 15-game losing streak are slim, as they take on the Denver Nuggets tonight for the second time in three games at the Pepsi Center.Minnesota suffered a 124-111 loss versus the Nuggets on Wednesday before dropping a 120-95 decision two days later to the Phoenix Suns. Ramon Sessions led the Wolves with 23 points and Al Jefferson contributed 20 points and five rebounds in a losing cause. Ryan Hollins added 13 points and six boards, while rookie Jonny Flynn recorded 18 points and six assists for the Timberwolves, whose only victory this season came in the season-opener against the still winless New Jersey Nets. "Everybody is coming in here kind of full throttle to put us away. We have to do some soul searching. We have to go out there and really have pride. The coaching staff can't do it for us," said Flynn. Minnesota's record losing streak is 16 set from February 29 - March 29, 1992. It can match that mark with a loss in the Rocky Mountains tonight, especially since the Timberwolves are 0-7 on the road this season. Meanwhile, the Northwest Division-leading Nuggets have won four straight and six of seven games, including Friday's 128-125 victory over the New York Knicks in the opener of a four-game homestand. Carmelo Anthony scored a career-high 50 points and buried 17-of-28 shots from the field. Anthony has scored at least 20 points in every game this season for Denver, which got 32 points and eight assists from Chauncey Billups. J.R. Smith added 17 points in a winning cause. "It couldn't have come at a better time," Anthony said of his first 50-point night. "This game right here, to win by a three, (it was) a tough game on our home court." Denver will also host Golden State and Miami, and is a perfect 7-0 as the host this season. The Nuggets and Phoenix Suns are the only teams in the league with an unbeaten home mark. The Nuggets have won 10 straight, 11 of 12 and 13 of the last 15 meetings with Northwest-rival Minnesota, which has lost five straight and seven of its last eight contests at the Pepsi Center.
