Lawsuit Filed Against Laurel Crest
The Cambria County-run nursing home is the subject of a lawsuit over the death of a resident two years ago.Marian Vay, of Colver, died in November 2004 at Laurel Crest Manor five days after being injured in a fall at the nursing home.Vay's family is suing the home and the company that ran it, alleging they were negligent in her care.County Commissioner P.J. Stevens said he could not comment on the case due to the pending litigation.Stevens did say that "every effort is always made to ensure the safety and welfare of the residents and we are confident that was done in this case."Stay with Channel 6 News for continuing coverage.
