Sen. Casey Visits Johnstown

Posted: 1:44 pm EDT April 3, 2007

Pennsylvania Sen. Robert Casey was in the area Tuesday morning touting the importance of health care for children.

Casey visited the Cambria County Head Start in Johnstown to highlight the importance of the state's Children's Health Insurance Program.

Casey said there are hundreds of children in Cambria County alone without health insurance.

"I think that's an insult when you have money going out to tax breaks for wealthy people --millionaires and multi millionaires. Big oil is getting all kinds of subsidies from our government and we still have children who are uninsured," Casey said.

He said the existing insurance program should not only be re-authorized but should also be expanded to cover all children who are eligible.
