Posted: 2:28 am EDT April 10, 2007Updated: 7:59 am EDT April 10, 2007

On Saturday, a Johnstown man abducted a woman and her baby in a Giant Eagle parking lot near Pittsburgh.

Police said James Tayse jumped inside the woman's car with a knife and threatened to kill her 16-month old baby. The woman cooperated with Tayse, who demanded she drive out of the parking lot and stop at an ATM machine for money.

The woman told police she drove around for hours with Tayse in her car and ended up in Ohio. Police said Tayse demanded the woman check in to a hotel where he raped her.

Tayse eventually let the woman go and he was arrested by Ohio police. Tayse is expected to be transported to Pittsburgh where the crime initially happened.
