The roof of an old Cambria County school collapsed Tuesday, leaving a busy road closed and raising the concern about asbestos exposure. The roof of the former Patton School building in Patton Township crashed, and officials said the building itself is caving in.Because of the collapse, officials said they can't remove the asbestos as easily as they would like and must now collapse the building.Residents said they have been working with the borough for at least three years to get the building torn down."I'm concerned about the asbestos. I have two little kids and I don't want anything to happen. I don't want anyone to get hurt, so I want somebody to do something about it," said neighbor Christy O'Leary.Crews from the Emergency Management Agency and the building code inspector were at the scene Tuesday morning.Officials said Beech Avenue will be closed indefinitely.Stay with Channel 6 News for continuing coverage.
