PATTON, Pa. -- The former Patton High School is being torn down, which has some residents wondering if asbestos is floating in the air."Asbestos inspections were done on both of these buildings and this upper building was pretty much asbestos-free," said Patton Mayor Steven Bakajza. The mayor said the asbestos remaining in the building was confined to the roofing material and flooring tile. But, with every dust cloud that goes up, so do the concerns asbestos could be floating in the air.The demolition crew has been given access to a fire hose and residents said they have periodically been spraying down the debris to keep the dust cloud down.Workers in the middle of the rubble are not wearing ventilators, however, because the asbestos risk is low.
