Club 21's Owner Speaking Out About Shutdown

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 – updated: 6:24 pm EDT July 10, 2007

Keith Taylor said his new club is for the kids in the community, not for crime.

Club 21 was recently shut down by city leaders in Johnstown because of building violations, but the neighbors said they believe there is illegal activity going on at the club that is meant for kids and teenagers under the age of 21.

Taylor said the former owners of the building used the bar as a spot for trouble, and despite what local residents think, he is hoping to make a place for kids in the community in an effort to keep them off the streets and away from alcohol.

He said he plans on having dancing, food and fun in a safe, alcohol-free environment.

Taylor said he will be making building repairs and hopes to be open again soon.
