Community Celebrates Que Creek Anniversary

It's been five years since nine miners were rescued in Somerset County, and community members are celebrating.

Organizers said events like this weekend's anniversary celebration will make sure people don't forget the work done that weekend at Que Creek Mine.

"If it wasn't for their dedication, through all those hours, and their equipment, what happened wouldn't have happened, it wouldn't have been bad and instead it turned out to be a miracle," organizer Betty Rhoads said.

Events will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Coal Miners Cafe and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the rescue site.
