EBENSBURG, Pa. -- Laurel Crest still has 13 deficiencies against it and its goal is to have them corrected by August the 20th.

Officials with Laurel Crest didn't get too specific at Tuesday's press conference on those 13 deficiencies, but they said among the shortfalls was a patient's fall and subsequent injury, tuberculosis screening, patient dignity, and social service reports.

The department of health will come back to Laurel Crest in the beginning of September to make sure the deficiencies are corrected and no new ones have come up. In the meantime, Laurel Crest said it will be enrolling in the Advanced Excellence in American Nursing Homes, which will open up support programs to the county-run nursing home.
