EBENSBURG, Pa. -- Was it the result of an accident or a natural death? That is the question facing the Cambria County run nursing home.State health inspectors weren't supposed to go back to Laurel Crest until the beginning of September but they are now.County coroner Denny Kwitkowski said that on August 9th, a 64-year-old woman somehow fell out of a lift when she was being moved. She hit her head and was taken to Memorial Medical Center where she was treated and released. She died three days later on August 12th. Kwitkowski said at this point they don't know whether her death was a result of her fall or of natural causes. The results of the autopsy are not complete, but it is known that she didn't die of a head injury. This fall comes as the state cited a diffiency to Laurel Crest's lifting procedures. Once they're complete with their inspection, the State Health Department will issue a new report.
