Cambria County Firefighter Charged With Arson

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Police said a local firefighter admitted he started at least two fires, one of which destroyed a business and home.Charles Shenego, 19, a firefighter with the Lower Yoder Fire Department, is charged with arson, risking a catastrophe and other felony charges.West Hills police started their investigation when the arsons began last month, starting with a fire on Virginia Avenue and including a fire that damaged a home and business on D Street in Lower Yoder Township.Investigators said Shenego admitted to setting both fires."His response was that he got an adrenaline rush from watching the fires and participating in putting them out," said Detective Sgt. George Musulin.Investigators said Shenego took flares from the Lower Yoder Fire Hall to start the fires.
