Thursday, August 23, 2007 – updated: 6:13 pm EDT August 23, 2007

Lower Yoder firefighter Charles Shenego was charged with a list of nine arson-related charges.

Nineteen-year-old Shenego is accused of starting several dumpster fires as well as two structure fires in Lower Yoder Township.

Police said he admitted to starting the fires with flares he took from his fire company, telling them he liked to watch the fires burn and help to put them out.

On Thursday, Shenego was charged with numerous felony charges as well as several misdemeanor offenses.

Shenego's attorney said he is remorseful for his actions and will be getting some psychological help while he is out of jail on $100,000 bond.

One of the fires Shenego is charged with forced the evacuation of a husband and wife who were sleeping above their business on D Street.
