Local Students Remember Victims Of United Flight 93

Tuesday, September 11, 2007 – updated: 7:32 pm EDT September 11, 2007

As students made their way to class at Penn State Altoona Tuesday, a group of 40 ROTC cadets and four instructors commemorated the victims of United Flight 93.

Each person ran one mile in remembrance of each life lost in the Flight 93 crash on Sept. 11, 2001. The 40-mile run took five hours to complete.

"It felt really good. It meant something deep down, like the feeling I always get when I'm with the army," said Cadet Kevin Fague.

As each runner completed his mile and the new runner began, a member from the office of student life read the name of one the victims that mile honored.

The run ended with a closing prayer, the National Anthem, and a color guard presentation.
