PSU Fans Attack Ohio State Fans On YouTube

Posted: 1:36 pm EDT October 31, 2007Updated: 2:21 pm EDT October 31, 2007

A YouTube video from Saturday's Penn State game is gaining attention from the campus, community and the police.

In the video, Ohio State fans are seen walking through an alley on the way to the game. As they pass a party outside of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house on Fairmount Avenue, Penn State students yell obscenities and throw beer cans at the Ohio State fans.

One Penn State student got very close to one fan and threw a beer can at point blank range.

State College police said they have reviewed the video multiple times and have been in touch with police in Ohio to find the victim. Police said the victim was not believed to be injured enough to need treatment, but police said that doesn't lessen the severity of the case.

Investigating Officer Sgt. Keith Robb said people who watched the video called police to identify the student who threw the beer cans. Robb said police are contacting that person and, at the least, expect to file harassment charges against him.

Penn State University President Graham Spanier said he doesn't know enough about the case to comment on it at this point.
