Local Woman Builds Home To House 58 Cats

Friday, January 25, 2008 – updated: 7:39 pm EST January 25, 2008

Kim Green said she started taking in abandoned cats several years ago, and the population grew so large she built a new home to care for them all.

She currently has 58 cats. All are spayed or neutered, but she said the process to care for all of them is starting to get physically and financially draining.

She said she uses an enormous amount of cat litter and food each month, and needs volunteers to play with the cats because she cannot possibly give all of them enough attention.

Although Green fears the cats would have been put to sleep if she hadn't taken them in, Green said she can't take any more.

If you would like to volunteer to help with the cats or possibly adopt one, call Kim Green at (814) 255-6319.
