ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Residents near a proposed methadone clinic in Blair County came together Saturday for a "peaceful protest."The clinic site would be just blocks from the Foot of Ten Elementary School.Protesters met at the elementary school and then marched to the proposed site of the clinic.Organizers expected about 200 people to attend the protest.People of all ages attended, including several families.Organizers pointed out that they aren't against methadone clinics but believe the Discovery House should find a better location for their clinic. The clinic would move into a vacant building along Old Route 22.Organizers said they have a few more options to block the clinic. They're urging Allegheny Township officials to consider a six month moratorium on any action regarding the clinic.
