Posted: 7:16 pm EDT March 26, 2008Updated: 7:33 pm EDT March 26, 2008

A national program promoting abstinence made a stop in Clearfield County on Wednesday.

The Silver Ring Thing asks teenagers to make a commitment to remaining abstinent until marriage.

The organization hosted two programs Wednesday at DuBois Catholic School.

Students got a sneak peek at the program at a school assembly.

Later on, they had the chance to come back with their parents.

Any teenager who accepts the pledge to remain abstinent receives a silver ring.

Organizers said they expected about 100 people at Wednesday evening's event.
