Silver Ring Thing Comes To Clearfield County

DUBOIS, Pa. -- A national program promoting abstinence made a stop in Clearfield County on Wednesday.The Silver Ring Thing asks teenagers to make a commitment to remaining abstinent until marriage.The organization hosted two programs Wednesday at DuBois Catholic School.Students got a sneak peek at the program at a school assembly.Later on, they had the chance to come back with their parents.Any teenager who accepts the pledge to remain abstinent receives a silver ring.Organizers said they expected about 100 people at Wednesday evening's event.
