Possible MRSA Case in Centre County Prison
Centre County Prison went into a semi-lockdown due to an inmate showing signs of MRSA.Access in and out of the prison was limited on Wednesday in order to protect other inmates from catching MRSA, which is termed a “super bug” virus because of its ability to resist many medications. The inmate is in isolation.Centre County Administrator Tim Boyde said, “We have an inmate who may have MRSA. We're treating it aggressively.”This is not the first potential MRSA case at the jail. The inmate who may be infected with MRSA has been at the Centre County Prison since early this year.
