Local Soldier Injured In Iraq

SOMERSET TWP, Pa. -- Army Captain Andrew Lynch is undergoing treatment in Washington D.C.Lynch grew up near Friedens in Somerset County.He was wounded in Iraq when a deployment device struck a Humvee unit he and two other soldiers were traveling in.A Florida man died as a result of the attack.Lynch is undergoing several surgeries because of his injuries, but his family is hopeful he will recover soon.The third soldier in the vehicle is also undergoing treatment for several injuries.
