The R.J. Cornman Railroad Company wants to reopen a portion of the Beech Creek Railroad in Clearfield and Centre Counties.

The section is about 20 miles long and stretches from Wallaceton in Clearfield County to Snowshoe Township, Centre County.

Company officials said trains could carry soybean oil, cubed trash and water on the tracks.

The company is working with Clearfield County on an enviromental impact study.

Clearfield County officials said the line would have a greater economic impact on Centre County.

The railroad line has not been used for several years.
