CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. -- The rush for natural gas is spreading across the Alleghenies. It's all because of a discovery that huge pockets of natural gas are underneath the majority of Pennsylvania, some 8,000 feet down. Now more and more homeowners are getting pressure from companies to lease their land.Wednesday those homeowners got a chance to learn more about the drilling process and what their rights are, in a meeting at the Ebensburg Recreation Center. The Penn State Cooperative Extension held the workshop, charging $15 per person.Officials said some of the most frequently asked questions were what would happen to their property and is the money offer fair?Organizers took time to make sure everyone had their questions answered. However, they say if residents missed the meeting, more will likely be held at a later date.
