Police Investigate Scrap Metal Theft
Jackson Township, Cambria County police are investigating a case of stolen scrap metal that happened last Wednesday night.Police said someone hot-wired a high-lift and loaded 23 stainless steel pipes from a metal fabricating company. Police did not release the name of the company. The pipes measured from 8 to 20 feet long and 4 to 20 inches in diameter.Police estimated the loss in the tens of thousands of dollars.Police said that someone had to have seen a truck or trailer hauling the pipes given the size and quantity of steel that was taken.If you have any information on the theft, call police at 814-749-0051.
