HASTINGS, Pa. -- Two Amish property owners learned Thursday that they must report to jail July 21.The two defendants, Samuel Yoder and Andy Schwartzentruber, denied the option of community service instead of jail time on a sewage violations because it goes against their religious beliefs, so the judge ordered a 90-day jail sentence for both men.The two men may still have a chance to get out of the sentence. They need to be granted an appeal and one of their friends has stepped forward to try and help, so they are not violating their beliefs by paying for an attorney.
