Union employees of Johnstown's Freightcar America plant met Tuesday to hear details of a tentative contract offer. Many former employees gathered at Ace's Lounge in Cambria County in hopes of putting an end to the pension fight that has been going on with the company for several years. The United Steelworkers heard details of the agreement reached by both sides, which includes global settlement money as well as a medical supplement.Under the agreement, what each employee will receive is determined by their years of service with Freightcar.Union President Dennis Conahan said all of the 317 former employees will be compensated in some way under the agreement.Conahan also said he's hopeful this will bring the employees the closure they're been waiting for since Frieghtcar started taking their business out of Johnstown.Employees who attended the meeting will have a chance to vote on the agreement on Tuesday. Anyone who could not attend will have an opportunity to vote on Thursday at the Union Hall.Stay with Channel 6 News and WJACTV.com for continuing coverage.
