With Fourth Fest 2008 now just a memory, organizers in State College began making preparations for the next big event: the Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.Monday, crews were hanging banners on Allen Street, creating the main mall and preparing for the more than 120,000 people expected to attend this year. The festival kicks off on Wednesday with Children's Day and concludes on Sunday.More than 300 artists will take part in the popular sidewalk sale. Some new booths this year include one focused completely on the artwork of Penn State students. Also, on Sunday, there will be new jam sessions for people interested in folk or gospel music.Rick Bryant, executive director for the festival, said there is something for everyone with every-sized wallet."We have some great stuff (and) some great artists," Bryant said. "It's an economical festival. You can spend a lot of money or not so much. So, we think we have our bases covered."Allen Street in the College and Beaver areas was closed to traffic on Monday, and detours will be in place all week.Stay with Channel 6 News and WJACTV.com for continuing coverage.
