A Blair County man is accused of striking a mother after she yelled at him for nearly running over children who were playing.

David Garner, of Tyrone, is charged with assault.

Police said Garner was drunk when he drove through a closed-off area at DelGrosso's parking lot where children were playing.

Investigators said Garner nearly struck some of the children and, when a mother shouted at him, Garner allegedly got out of his car and punched her.
